Four held after carpark brawl
Four people were detained in Forrestfield yesterday after a brawl threatened to break out in a shopping centre carpark.
Police were called to the Forrestfield Forum on Hale Road about 2.20pm after reports of a group of young men carrying bricks, baseball bats and machetes.
Witnesses said there were about 15 males, ranging from juveniles to adults, who appeared to be prepared for a fight, perhaps with a rival group.
Rohan Ruckert, 19, and his friends were in the carpark when the group started running towards them.
Mr Ruckert thought they were about to be attacked, until he realised the group was fleeing from police.
Four people were detained by police and taken to Forrestfield police station for questioning.
