Lucky escape as car rams into bedroom

A Canning Vale couple were amazingly unscathed when a car smashed their bedroom this morning.

Caroline Naguib was at her doorway when a Holden Commodore lost control on Dupont Way and crashed into her built-in wardrobe, where she had been standing just minutes earlier.

"Thank God I wasn't there when the car smashed into the room - I was there about two minutes before," she said.

"I was about three metres away from where it happened.

"It feels like a dream. I can't believe it. We are so lucky."

Mrs Naguib was in the house with her 11-year old son and her parents-in-law, while her husband Nabil was in the carport with his 14-year-old daughter after returning from their school.

"I heard the crash and came running out. I saw a boy running away and called police," Mr Naguib said.

Later this morning police arrested a juvenile male for allegedly crashing into the home.

According to police the alleged driver sustained arm injuries but no-one was seriously injured in the incident.

"I am very happy my wife and family are okay," Mr Naguib said.

Police inquiries into the incident continue.
