Klum loves her taste of Oz

She may be here to spruik her new underwear line but there's something else *Heidi Klum *has been focused on while Down Under - eating.

"I basically ate my way through Australia," the German-born supermodel, left, giggled to _Access All Area _s from Sydney.

"I had Vegemite, I had Tim Tams, I had Cherry Ripes, I had sausage rolls and I had a giant pavlova. I still have to try kanger bangers, I think they are kangaroo sausages."

It's Klum's candid sense of humour that has made her a household name around the world and helped her score major gigs with Victoria's Secret and Project Runway.

And now the leggy 41-year-old has turned her hand to designing, releasing her first Heidi Klum Intimates collection in partnership with Bendon this month, which brought her to our shores just in time for Australia Day.

As both creative director and face of the range, Klum took her joint roles seriously and made sure to test-drive all the pieces before they went on sale.

So what makes a perfect bra, in her eyes?

"First of all it's the fit," the blonde said in her trademark accent.

"It can be so sexy on the hanger but if you put it on and it doesn't fit, it's no good. The cleavage needs to look amazing.

"We wear bras for different functions. Sometimes it's purely for the bedroom, sometimes it's to tease, sometimes it's to just feel comfortable under a T-shirt. I need to keep all of that in mind when I am designing."

To help her show off the range, Klum was joined by some of the country's hottest young male and female models dressed in the skimpy garments for events in Sydney and Melbourne this week.

While Klum has worked with some of the world's biggest names in modelling, she said she was very impressed with the talent in Australia.

"I thought all the girls and boys we had there were amazing," she gushed.

"For me it was important to have different-sized models because they all look beautiful regardless of their shape or size. I wanted to show the range and show we are all different."

Aside from checking out the models, Klum has been going to great lengths to make the most of her first trip to Oz in 15 years.

She has cuddled a koala and kissed a kangaroo at Taronga Zoo, taken a trip on a Melbourne tram and cruised on Sydney's famous harbour.

But it was climbing the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge that was the highlight of her visit.

"This was my third bridge climb and I just love it - being at the top and seeing Sydney Harbour and the Opera House brings back memories for me," she said.

"Everyone here is so easygoing and super friendly towards me - it's great. It makes me want to come back."
