Priestley reaches out to Doherty

Jason Priestley has reached out to his former Beverly Hills, 90210 castmate Shannen Doherty to make amends after the actress blasted his depiction of her in his autobiography.

The actor opened up about working with Doherty on the 1990s TV show in his 2014 book, Jason Priestley: A Memoir, and his former co-star was left fuming over her portrayal.

She singled out one particular part of the book in which Priestley wrote that she complained when TV bosses sent a town car instead of a limousine to pick her up, and she blamed the actor's 2002 road crash for "altering" his memory of past events.

Priestley has now hit back at Doherty and insisted that if she had read the book, she would have appreciated what he wrote about her.

In a message posted to Doherty through Twitter, Priestley writes, "Love you Shannen. I had nothing but love for u (sic) in my book Had u read it, u would have seen (sic). Misunderstood."

Priestley suffered a serious head injury in 2002 when he was involved in a car crash during the Indy Racing Infiniti Pro Series at Kentucky Speedwa, but he went on to make a full recovery after the accident.
