Two injured in home invasion

Two people were allegedly hit with a hammer in a dramatic home invasion in Osborne Park overnight.

Radomir Dragicevic, the care taker of the property said he and his female housemate ran from their Main Street home at about 12.30am after a stranger entered their home allegedly armed with a hammer.

Mr Dragicevic said he woke to find his housemate injured and the armed man, who then turned on him.

“I saw her fall down on to the tiles…He hit me in the hand when I tried to block it,” he said.

“I was just scared for a second and then we both left the house.”

Police attended to find the man on the roof of the property, allegedly throwing roof tiles on to the ground.

It is understood a police car was hit by one of the tiles.

Police cordoned off Main Street while officers attempted to coax the man down from the roof.

Several police vehicles were sent to the residence, including a TRG Negotiator.

A 32-year-old Alkimos man was taken into custody and conveyed to QEII hospital.

The 32-year-old has been charged with three counts each of criminal damage, assaulting a public officer and one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, aggravated burglary, burglary, obstructing public officers and unlawful act with intent to harm.
