Workers at a Duncraig tyre service shop escaped serious injury after a car smashed through their workshop this morning.

At about 7.30am the driver of a Holden ute had a seizure on Glengarry Drive and veered into a parked Toyota Corolla outside the K-Mart Tyre and Auto Service. No-one was inside the parked car.

The 50-year-old driver of the ute was taken to Joondalup Hospital. His injuries are not considered to be major.

The crash happened minutes before the tyre shop workers were due to start for the day.

Onlookers said it was lucky the parked car was in the path of ute, or the crash could have caused significant damage to the inside of the workshop.

They also said it was lucky no-one was inside the workshop at the time.

Worksafe investigators are at the scene but it is not known how much structural damage the workshop suffered.

Damage to the building is estimated to be about $50,000 while damage to the vehicle is thought to be $20,000.

K-Mart is still determining whether the shop will open today.

A service station next to the workshop shut down its fuel pumps for half an hour while emergency services assessed the damage.

Firefighters, police and ambulance workers were at the scene this morning.
