Water police were able to free a baby dolphin which became tangled in crab pot lines in the Swan River this morning.
Officers found the trapped dolphin and its distressed mother near Chidley Point in Mosman Park about 8.30am.
An officer dived into the river to free the dolphin.
A water police spokesman said the calf swam away freely and appeared unharmed.
