Teens plead guilty to killing boy

Quinn de Campe, bashed after he refused to hand over money.

Three teenagers have pleaded guilty to unlawfully killing a 16-year-old who was found unconscious in a pool of blood after a staged robbery in Balga last year.

Quinn De Campe was bashed by the boys when he refused to hand over his belongings at Princess Wallington Reserve in December.

He had been led to secluded bushland by another boy, now aged 17, who offered to take him to a house so he could buy cannabis for his friends for Christmas.

In Perth Children's Court today, prosecutor Linda Petrusa said the boys were hiding in the bush and planned on pretending to rob the 17-year-old before stealing Quinn's money.

But Quinn refused to hand over his cash when the 17-year-old ran from the scene.

One of the boys punched him to the head and knocked him to the ground after telling him to empty his pockets.

Quinn was then assaulted again after he stood up and spat blood at the boy.

The court was told the other teenagers then joined in the attack, which ended when one of them kicked him hard enough to leave a shoe imprint in his head.

The Duncraig teenager was put on life support in intensive care at Royal Perth Hospital but died a short time later.

The three boys, one 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds, and the boy who led Quinn into the bush also pleaded guilty to stealing while armed with a dangerous weapon.

The court was told they stole $175 and two debit cards from Quinn.

Murder charges against the four boys have been dropped.

They will be sentenced in November.
