Home is where the heart is for stars Johnny Ruffo, Natalie Barr and Nic Westaway.

The West Australian born celebs touched down in Perth this afternoon along with Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage ahead of a busy Telethon weekend.

Ruffo, who stars on Home and Away and was named the 2012 Dancing with the Stars champion, is no stranger to Telethon, having grown up watching the fundraiser.

"It's good fun," he said.

"I remember when I was growing up saying 'mum, can we donate $10?'."

After focusing on his acting of late, the Balcatta-raised entertainer is looking forward to releasing some fresh tracks in the coming weeks.

"I'm going to be performing some new stuff at Telethon," Ruffo said.

"I'm looking forward to performing and I hope everybody enjoys it. It's upbeat and positive - in keeping with the Telethon vibe."

Sunrise news anchor Barr, who grew up in Bunbury, has lost count of how many times she's flown to Perth for Telethon. A mother of two, the 46-year-old explained it's something she looks forward to every year.

"It makes me so proud to be involved," Barr said.

"It's hard to tell people in the Eastern States what Telethon is - it's not just something to raise money for much needed causes, there's such a heart and soul to Telethon."

Armytage, who was last week named #3 on Maxim Australia's Hot 100 list, revealed she hopes to spend as much time as possible at Princess Margaret Hospital during her fleeting visit.

"I actually really enjoy meeting the kids," she said.

"You would think it would be a depressing place to be but it's actually not, these kids are fantastic. They're wise beyond their years and they're positive and their families are wonderful. It's quite an uplifting experience for me to visit them."

Telethon kicks off from 6.30pm tomorrow on Seven/ GWN7 live from the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
