Brenton Thwaites says it was fun working with WA beauty Courtney Eaton on his latest movie.

The duo spent time together earlier this year while filming blockbuster Gods of Egypt in Sydney alongside Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush.

Talking to AAA Weekend in Perth this week, Thwaites was quick to remember the model hailed from Bunbury.

"She plays my girlfriend in the movie and we play mortals together in a world where gods and mortals co-exist," the 25-year-old said. "She was fun to work with."

But forget about any rumours that may arise linking the two stars romantically when the film comes out in early 2016.

As Hollywood's newest heartthrob, Thwaites has already been the subject of a fictional romance with Taylor Swift after they appeared in teen drama The Giver together, which he said was a by-product of the producers trying to sell the movie.

"People will always say what they want to say, I have no control over it," the Cairns-raised actor said. "It's funny, it's annoying, it's intrusive, but I have chosen to be an actor so I just have to cop it."

Thwaites, whose WA flick Son of a Gun is in cinemas, added he had to stop himself from making jokes about the rumours surrounding his love life.

"I am a bit of a smart arse so I have to kind of hold my tongue sometimes when people ask me about Taylor," he smiled.
