Group Harley rider dies in crash

A 65-year-old motorcyclist who had been riding with a group died in a crash at Lake Clifton yesterday.

The Merredin man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle east along Old Bunbury Road around 3.50pm approximately 1km east of Tuart Grove Avenue.

A police spokeswoman said the man overtook another rider and failed to negotiate a bend and continued straight going off the roadway on to gravel, down a steep embankment and struck a bolder, which propelled the man into a power pole.

Emergency Services were called although but the man died at the scene.

Major Crash Investigators would like to speak to anyone travelling on the Old Bunbury Road near Tuart Grove Avenue in Lake Clifton at that time who may have seen the crash or the Harley Davidson motorcycle before the crash.
