Car crashes into swimming pool

A stolen car has smashed through the fence of a Seville Grove home overnight, landing in a swimming pool.

The driver of the gold Ford Falcon sedan and other occupant fled the scene of the Ralph Street crash, which happened just after 11pm.

Susan, who did not want her surname disclosed, says she heard screeching tyres and a loud bang before finding the car partly submerged in her family’s backyard pool.

Susan had been sleeping in the front of the house when the out-of-control car crashed into her property, where her daughter Katie, her partner Jordan and their two children Mikayla, 2, OK and Jacob, 4, also reside.

She recounted how at least two people had smashed a back window of the partly submerged car to scramble out before leaving the scene in another waiting car.

“They scrambled out of the car, stripped off and were all screaming at each other, making sure they were OK,” Susan said.

“They threw out a wild turkey can, screamed ‘we’ll come back’ and then jumped into another car that was waiting on the street.”

A crane is being used to remove the car from the pool.

Police inquiries are continuing.
