Speeder clocked 'at 134km/h' with baby in car

A 36-year-old man allegedly had no authority to drive when he was caught travelling 54km/h above the speed limit with an 18-month-old child in the back seat.

Police were conducting traffic patrols along Forrest Highway in Lake Clifton yesterday afternoon when they detected a Ford Fairlane allegedly travelling at 134km/h in an 80km/h zone.

A 35-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child were also in the vehicle.

The Boyup Brook man has been charged with reckless driving (45km over speed limit) and no authority to drive.

He will appear in the Mandurah Magistrate's Court on September 24.

The man’s vehicle has been impounded for 28 days.
