First DWTS casualty

The series doesn't even have a release date but Dancing with the Stars has already experienced its first casualty for the year.

Comedian Paul Fenech was set to be partnered in the upcoming season with professional dancer Alana Patience, who has won the Seven show twice.

However, the Fat Pizza star has withdrawn from the line-up just two weeks into rehearsals for personal reasons, according to a spokeswoman from Seven.

"Earlier this week, because of a private matter, Paul resigned from the cast of the next series of DWTS," she said.

The hit reality dance competition will feature stars Ricki-Lee Coulter, Kyly Clarke, Tai Hara and Perth's own swimming sensation Eamon Sullivan *.

AAA understands DWTS will proceed without a replacement at this stage.
