Jolie-Pitt wedding: first look

Their wedding was a top secret affair but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have chosen to share a glimpse at their big day with the world.

The couple have released snaps of their recent nuptials for the upcoming issue of People magazine and a first look of the event has been published with the release of the cover today.

UK magazine Hello! also featured a similar set of snaps.

In the shots, Jolie wears an elegant white satin gown created by Atelier Versace but it is her veil that is the stand-out feature from her wedding day look.

The tulle features colourful drawings by her six children, echoing her and Pitt's desire to have their brood involved in the event.

Other snaps show the two parents surrounded by their kids, who all played different roles in the ceremony, which took place at the duo's French estate on August 23.

Pitt looked dapper in a black suit and revealed he had to borrow a tie from one of his sons after forgetting to pack his own.

It is not the first time the pair have decided to share photos of their major life events with the public.

Following the births of daughter Shiloh in 2006 and twins Knox and Vivienne two years later, Pitt and Jolie sold pictures to People and Hello.

The twins' shots fetched a reported $14 million, but the stars donated all the money to charity.
