Teen, 17, charged over alleged attack

A 17-year-old from Craigie has been charged over an alleged attack on another teenage boy in Innaloo on July 26.

The Craigie teenager has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and grievous bodily harm.

A police spokesman said a 16-year-old boy was walking near the Mitchell Freeway along the pathway close to Hertha Road on his way to the Stirling Train Station, when he was allegedly assaulted by three men armed with an unknown metal object.

The victim received serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

He received a fractured skull, a fractured left orbital which required 18 staples and five stitches.

Police said he was still recovering from his injuries.

The 17-year-old accused is due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on September 8.
