Alex Perry is on the hunt for the next Victoria's Secret Angel and he may have just found one in Perth.
The Australia's Next Top Model judge was in WA earlier this week for the FOX8 show's round of local auditions and, with fellow panellist Didier Cohen, plucked out several beauties to proceed the next round.
While in town, Perry told AAA Weekend it was his goal to find someone worthy of the US lingerie brand's legendary troupe.
"If you look at a Victoria's Secret show, those women are spectacular and they are at the top of their game in that industry," the fashion designer explained.
"We have seen girls have such amazing careers after Australia's Next Top Model but I would love to see one of our girls land on the Victoria's Secret runway.
"I had (Victoria's Secret model) Alessandra Ambrosio come and open my show earlier this year and she is, like, 30 and she has two children. But she has the most amazing body and immaculate skin and, to me, she epitomises what an amazing model is all about. I would love to find someone like that."
Though his trip to WA was fleeting, Perry will be back for a longer visit next month when he shows his creations in the Galvanised - Ultimate Show- Stoppers catwalk event at Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
He will also tip his hat to late friend Ruth Tarvydas when he watches on from the audience at a celebratory showcase based on the designer's long career.
"I am very honoured to be paying tribute to Ruth and to be part of the fashion scene in Perth for a few days," Perry said.
Last week was a career-defining moment for Perry when he had the "best fitting ever" with Courtney Love, who was on tour in Australia.
He said the two hit it off instantly.
"The past year I have had some incredible new highlights and Courtney was one of them," Perry said.
"I have worked with Sandra Bullock, Kylie Jenner and Giuliana Rancic so it's been quite incredible. But Courtney was an absolute dream to work with. She was very funny and she really is the original rock chick."
