Woman killed in York crash

A woman has died after her car collided with a 30-tonne truck in York this afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Great Southern Highway and Avon Terrace about 1.15pm.

The 86-year-old woman was trapped in her Hyundai Excel and died at the scene.


A 49-year-old truck driver was not injured and is assisting police with inquiries.

Police appealed to anyone who saw the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The death is the third on WA roads in the past three days.

A 50-year-old man was killed in a car rollover near Kojonup on Monday and a 38-year-old woman died in a head-on smash in Bibra Lake yesterday.
