Minaj laughs off wardrobe malfunction
Rapper Nicki Minaj has explained how she was left holding her dress together to prevent an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction before running out on stage at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.
The hip-hop star chose a little black dress for her performance with Jessie J and Ariana Grande at The Forum venue in Inglewood, California on Sunday.
However, she ran out of time during her costume change and emerged on stage to perform Bang Bang without doing up her zipper properly. Minaj was left holding her dress together throughout the song to prevent the tight gown from popping open.
Speaking after the show, she said: "We ran out of time to get the dress zipped up."
Minaj later uploaded a picture of the incident to Instagram and wrote "God is good. As long as a nipple didn't come out to play, I'm fine. Love my team."
In a later post she showed a photo of herself gripping onto the dress next to a picture of Elsa from Frozen with the caption "Let it go". Manaj writes: "Lol. Who did this? I know that's what the boyz wanted but hell naw! I held on to that dress for Dear Life! There was no bra and no panties to save me. Took real commitment".
