Man charged over child-car centre robbery

A 38-year-old man who allegedly stole a woman’s car before reversing into her outside a Karawara child care centre has been charged with a raft of offences.

The 39-year-old woman chased after the accused when he allegedly stole her car keys at the Lady Gowrie Child Care facility on Thursday morning.

The woman was knocked over as the man reversed her 2006 Holden Viva hatchback out of the car park.

She received lacerations and grazes and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

A Palmyra man has been charged with two counts each of aggravated burglary and commit and stealing. He is also charged with one count of aggravated robbery and stealing a motor vehicle.

Some of the charges relate to other incidents on Thursday.

The man is due to face the Perth Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
