Bike rider injured in hit and run

A motorcyclist was injured after being hit by a car in Mt Lawley last night.

Police said inquiries were continuing into the crash involving a white sedan and a motorbike, which happened near the Inglewood Hotel about 7pm.

Police are looking for the driver of the car, which clipped the motorcycle rider at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Beaufort Street.

Witnesses said the rider was thrown off his bike and on to the road.

An ambulance was called to treat the injured rider, who was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

It is understood the driver of the car pulled into a nearby petrol station before leaving the scene.
