The resident of a Palmyra home escaped injury after a four-wheel-drive ploughed into her home this afternoon.

The woman who lives at the Aurelian Street home was at work when the Honda CRV crashed into a stop sign, travelled over her lawn and into the front of her home at about 1.15pm.

Neighbours say the man who was driving claimed he blacked out at the wheel.

St John Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene but stood down and the man is not believed to be seriously injured.

Fire crews towed the car from the front yard of the home this afternoon.
