Bachelor pad gets makeover

They found love on The Bachelor Australia last year but, rather than rushing into marriage, *Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich decided to take their courtship a little more slowly.

After their journey on the Ten show, the couple spent the better part of the year getting to know one another while the blonde lawyer lived at her parents' home.

However, several months ago they decided to take their relationship to the next level, with Robards inviting Heinrich to move into his Bondi apartment.

"It's getting to the point where we are six months into the relationship and I think to keep things moving forward that is the next step," he said at the time.

The only problem was that, true to form, the chiropractor's place had been equipped as a bachelor pad complete with a shelf full of alcohol, mismatched furniture and a pool table in the dining area.

Enter The Living Room presenter and master builder Barry Du Bois, who was tasked with transforming the "pseudo-nightclub" man cave into a love nest for two.

While Heinrich had little say in the finished product, she requested that the new look be "female friendly" before being whisked away during the makeover.

She said she expected Robards would have a hard time losing a lot of his old furniture.

"The pool table would be number one," Heinrich said.

"It's very close to his heart so if that has to go we will need to let him down very easily."

The results of The Living Room's Bachelor makeover will be shown on the lifestyle series today at 7.30pm on Ten.
