Ablett, Nixon caught in street fight

Geelong great Gary Ablett and his former manager, the controversial Ricky Nixon, were allegedly involved in a fight in Melbourne.

According to reports, Victoria Police were called to a Port Melbourne laneway to break up a stoush between two men around 1.25pm local time.

“The men, aged in their 50s, were involved in a confrontation,” said a police spokesman.

“Police spoke to all parties, who declined any further police action.”

It was believed Ablett, 52, was staying with Nixon, 51, while the latter was negotiating a tell-all interview with a TV network.

But Ablett us understood to have moved out following the fight.

Nixon highlighted the incident, tweeting: “I told him in no uncertain terms if he didn’t clean up his room he is grounded #SuchANaughtyBoy”.

Ablett was one of Nixon's clients when he was the AFL's leading player manager in the 1990s.

But, like Ablett, Nixon fall from grace with involvement in drugs. Nixon was also caught in the storm involving the St Kilda schoolgirl saga several years ago.
