Police investigate woman s death

A 63-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 62-year-old woman at his home last night.

Police were called to a house on Greenwell Street in Scarborough just before 7pm.

Paramedics found the 62-year-old Riverton woman dead on arrival.

Simon Craig Cornelius , who is understood to be the woman's ex-partner, was arrested at the scene.

Major Crime Squad investigators have charged the man with murder.

He appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody.

He is scheduled to appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on August 27.

Part of Greenwell Street was cordoned off last night as forensic officers combed the property and removed items from the house.

They are expected to remain at the scene today.
