A 17-year-old boy has been charged with stealing after police were called to a bottle shop in Brentwood last night.

A WA Police spokesman said officers were called to a liquor store on Cranford Avenue about 7.50pm, after a person was allegedly seen stealing alcohol from the store.

"Officers from Palmyra Police Station attended a block of units nearby, where the offender was seen entering," the police spokesman said.

A Dog Squad unit was sent to assist, and Police Dog Storm was deployed.

Police allege Storm found a male under a parked car, and who then allegedly tried to run from the scene.

"The person was challenged to stop and was warned a number of times that the police dog would be released if he didn’t stop," the police spokesman said.

Storm was released and helped apprehend the suspect by taking his leg until his handler arrived to arrest him.

A 17-year-old boy from Spencer Park has been charged with Stealing and two counts of Breach of Bail.

He is due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court tomorrow.
