Murdered woman's family left numb
The family of a 44-year-old woman found murdered in her Dianella unit say they have been left saddened and numb.
Friends of Genevieve Elna Clark found her body at the Grand Promenade property about 5.20pm on Tuesday.
Ms Clark's family last night asked for privacy as they grieved for her.
They said Ms Clark was an enlightened person and they loved her very much.
"It doesn't matter what anyone's ever done in their life, it doesn't matter if they've been really happy, really lovely, really dark or whatever, no one kills another human, no one treats a human that badly," they said.
"It's just atrocious. We loved her."
Major crime squad and forensic officers spent yesterday combing the driveway and backyard of the property.
Police also focused on a property at nearby Mileto Street.
Ms Clark had lived at the unit since November 2012.
She was a prolific social media user and her last Facebook post was on Friday.
Det-Sen. Sgt James Bradley would not elaborate on how Ms Clark was killed but said the friends who found her were "very shocked and distressed".
Police spoke to the friends but no one was taken into custody.
A neighbour of Ms Clark said he heard the group on Tuesday.
"You could tell it was pretty serious," he said.
"There was a bit of yelling . . . a bit of, 'What have you done', from the (man) and the other guy was just sort of whimpering and crying and saying, 'No it wasn't me'."
He said police flooded the area shortly after the discovery.
Det-Sen. Sgt Bradley expected a long forensic investigation and called for public assistance.
"What we are calling for is information from members of the public or anybody who has information in relation to activities or anything suspicious that's occurred at this address on Grand Promenade, Dianella, from Saturday, July 26 until Tuesday, July 29," he said.
