UPDATE: The 54 railway detonators believed to be stolen from a vehicle in Parmelia on Monday night have been found.

Earlier today, police had issued a public warning following the theft of the 54 detonators, which have the potential to cause serious injury if not handled correctly.

The detonators were being carried in a silver carry case marked "Railway Track Detonators" and "Explosives".

In 2012, a 15-year-old New South Wales boy lost one of his hands while playing with a similar railway detonator.
