Teen punched supermarket worker

Police are investigating an assault that left a man with a serious eye injury.

The assault occurred in Kiara just after noon on July 2 when two male staff members from an Aussat Drive supermarket walked out of the store to speak with a woman and a male teenager.

"During their discussion, the teenager unexpectedly punched one of the staff members to the face before he and the woman left the area," police said.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to hospital, where he underwent eye surgery.

The woman is about 35 years of age and fair skinned, with a slim build and reddish hair.

She was wearing a light-coloured floral dress, black leggings and a black jacket.

The teenager is about 17 years of age and fair skinned, with a medium build.

He was wearing a black jumper and black shorts with white stripes on the sides, and black shoes.

Kiara Police are urging anyone who may have seen the incident, particularly the people who tried to help the victim, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
