Danny Green in the fitness zone

Three-time world champion Danny Green has traded boxing gloves for rubber gloves this year to make sure his new gym is a knockout.

Green, 41, has spent up to 18 hours a day at the Warwick gym, pouring concrete, scrubbing floors and more.

Green Zone Fitness, has been open since last Saturday, but yesterday was the official launch.

"I've been washing the toilet floors, sweeping up, vacuuming," he said. "I want to show the staff that yeah, I might be the owner, but I'm there doing all the menial tasks, too.

"I'm finding I spend 16 or 18 hours a day at the gym, but it just goes so quickly because I enjoy it."

Green wants his gym to cater to all ages and experience.

There is a wide range of equipment, from old-school free weights to a state-of-the-art motion cage.

The 12 rounds boxing circuit lets members choose their intensity. Fitness on demand classes range from yoga to "animal core".

"A lot of people assumed it would be a hardcore boxing gym but it's the opposite," Green said.

"People sometimes get put off and avoid gyms because there are so many hardheads around - we won't have that."
