Bid to drive a super car

Revheads have the chance to test the power of the most prestigious cars on the market in this year's Click2Bid auction.

For the first time in _The West Australian's _auction Supercars Perth is offering drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

Successful bidders will spend at least an hour in an Italian sports car at Perth's RAC Driving Centre.

"The course is 1.6km long with eight turns and a 500m straight," Supercars Perth director Matt James-Wallace said. "We can reach speeds of up to 180km/h in the Lamborghini on this track."

Mr James-Wallace said the team at Supercars Perth all had at least 20 years motorsport experience, and were not afraid to let drivers test cars' limits.

"We are not shy about getting people to go fast in these," he said. "We instruct drivers in safety and techniques and give them a sighting lap to get the feel for it, then their second lap will hopefully be faster."

He said the cars were equipped with two cameras, one facing the track and one facing the driver, to give people a full visual experience.

Car enthusiasts can bid on the chance to drive either a Lamborghini Gallardo or Ferrari 360.

The auction offers the chance to bid on thousands of quality products. For information or to register, see www.click2bid.com.au .
