Aniston romance a 'learning curve': Theroux

Justin Theroux's life has changed a lot since he began dating Jennifer Aniston.

The 42-year-old actor struck up a relationship with the former Friends star in 2011 and proposed to her a year later, but he admits he initially struggled to deal with the press coverage surrounding their blossoming romance.

"More people are like, 'Hey, man!' And I don't think that's from my role in John Adams. But it only changed as much as I engaged with it, and I learned very quickly: don't ever engage with it. It was a learning curve, but it wasn't as traumatic as you might expect," Theroux told Elle magazine.

"It's (press coverage is) just annoying. Occasionally you'll get a stewardess congratulating you, on, I don't know, whatever, some three-headed baby we just had."

However, the star insists the negative press doesn't put a strain on their relationship, but he does often wonder why everyone is so obsessed with them.

"It doesn't feel like a hardship, it doesn't feel difficult. It can be an annoyance, but it's not the end of the world," Theroux said previously.

"You have to centre on what its core thing is, which is that you met someone you fell in love with. It's hard to explain. I just find myself wondering, 'What's the big f..king deal?"
