Freo gives Sandilands a rest

Fremantle will battle St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Saturday without Aaron Sandilands after the giant ruckman was left out of the Dockers travelling party.

Sandilands, Michael Apeness and Clancee Pearce were the players from last Sunday's win over Greater Western Sydney to miss the flight east.

Jon Griffin will replace Sandilands on the ball while Matt de Boer and Matt Taberner were also added to the squad.

And Sam Menegola was likely to be the emergency. Menegola has yet to play a league match. He was on Hawthorn's list and transferred to Fremantle without a debut appearance. His 2013 season with WAFL club East Fremantle was ruined by a knee injury.

Griffin has not played for the Dockers this year as he recuperated from a knee injury and the strong form of big men Sandilands and Zac Clarke.
