A patient is transferred to an ambulance after this morning's emergency landing.

An RFDS plane carrying a patient has made an emergency landing at Jandakot Airport.

The light aircraft had been circling skies above the airport after the pilot was understood to have noticed an issue with the plane’s landing gear.

Fire fighters and St John Ambulance were at the scene but the plane landed without incident.

As well as the patient, the plane was also carrying a doctor and a nurse.

The patient was transferred to hospital by ambulance.
