Serious assault in Meekatharra

RFDS flight for critically injured woman

A woman is clinging to life after a domestic disturbance in Meekatharra yesterday afternoon.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found unconscious by police at a Queen Road home about 3.45pm.

St John Ambulance paramedics administered CPR before the woman was taken to Meekatharra Hospital and eventually airlifted to Perth via the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

She is in a critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital.

Major crime squad detectives were making their way to Meekatharra this morning. They will be joined by Geraldton detectives and local police.

A man in his 30s is understood to be assisting police with their inquiries.
