Three escape light plane crash

Three people were lucky to escape a light plane crash on a private airstrip yesterday.

The plane hit trees after crosswinds pushed it off course as it was attempting to land at the airstrip at Narrikup, between Mt Barker and Albany.

Police said the pilot and two passengers were able to get out of the plane, two of them with the help of St John Ambulance officers.

One of the passengers was taken to Albany Hospital as a precaution.
