She was rushed to hospital under mysterious circumstances last week and now Geoffrey Edelsten's new girlfriend Gabi Grecko has revealed it was because she was on "suicide watch".

The model/DJ was taken to Melbourne's St Vincent's Private Hospital on Friday after she reportedly discovered her 71-year-old beau had been exchanging text messages with another woman.

She was discharged several hours later looking frail, with millionaire Edelsten by her side.

Grecko later took to Twitter to confirm that she was on the edge of a nervous breakdown and went to hospital for her own safety.

"(I) was put in hospital to be mentally evaluated. I went into a deep depression after finding his texts," the 25-year-old wrote.

"I had an anxiety attack/nervous breakdown and had to go to hospital to be monitored for suicide watch."

Grecko also revealed she had experienced online bullying since she first stepped out with Edelsten earlier this year and was upset over his ex-wife Brynne's recent appearance on ABC's Dirty Laundry Live, where the socialite threw a drink on a photo of Grecko.

"So mean to see after my sincere apology and my effort to make peace. Some people are just cruel," the New Yorker tweeted, referring to an apology letter she wrote to Brynne last week.

Both Grecko and Edelsten have indicated they are working to save their relationship and had not broken up, as had been previously reported.
