Miley Cyrus flops in TV ratings

Miley Cyrus' behind-the-scenes TV tour special failed to find an audience when it aired in America on Sunday night, scoring just two million viewers.

The two-hour documentary, titled Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour, gave fans an all-access pass to her global trek and featured exclusive backstage footage with the Wrecking Ball hitmaker, her siblings and co-stars on the road, as well as performances of tracks such as We Can't Stop and Party in the U.S.A. from her recent gigs in Barcelona, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal.

Cyrus was also shown dedicating her track Adore You to her beloved dog Floyd, who passed away in April.

Ratings were expected to be lower than normal due to the Independence Day holiday weekend, but Cyrus' TV special was among the lowest-rated and least-watched programs of the night, according to early figures released by bosses at data firm Nielsen.

It proved to be less popular than new talent show Rising Star, which drew 4.32 million viewers in the same time slot, while repeats of Family Guy and American Dad both attracted more than 2.4 million viewers each.
