Gibney makes a killing
A six-part thriller TV series based on the telemovie The Killing Field, starring Rebecca Gibney, will go into production next month.
Gibney also co-produced The Killing Field and will have the same off-screen role on the new, yet-to-be-named Seven Network spin-off series.
"I'm currently in pre-production on a new series, it's not called The Killing Field, but we just haven't settled on a title yet. But it is Killing Field part two," former Packed to the Rafters star Gibney said.
"We are location scouting, casting and getting that crew together and getting all the scripts right. We start shooting in August."
Before then, on July 15, Gibney will appear on screen in the SBS series Who Do You Think You Are?.
She and her mother, Shirley Gibney, travel back to New Zealand to confront some dark family secrets.
"She's an extraordinary women when you consider what she endured in her life, not just at the hands of her father, but also then she married my father who was very violent towards her," Gibney said.
"It did bring us even closer, if that is possible."
