Garcia closer to Glory deal

Perth Glory are set to confirm the signing of former Socceroos forward Richard Garcia this week.

Garcia, 32, completed fitness testing with Glory in recent days and trained with the team for the first time at McGillivray Oval today.

He spent the first half of the session doing fitness work alongside fellow recruit Youssouf Hersi before doing some light ball work.

Garcia and Hersi will not play in the friendly match against National Premier League WA club Perth SC at Dorrien Gardens tomorrow night.

The fixture is set to be confirmed later today.
