Dannii's X-cited about WA

Expect to see some future Perth superstars when The X Factor returns soon, according to judge Dannii Minogue.

Minogue told AAA Weekend the WA contenders she had seen audition for the blockbuster Seven reality singing quest were among the best and could possibly give the west coast another winner, following in the footsteps of Morley- raised Samantha Jade's victory in 2012.

"Perth is rocking this year," Minogue said.

"What I thought when I stepped away from the auditions is that Perth stood out for me. Perth was really interesting. When you do have those previous success stories such as Johnny Ruffo and Samantha Jade from Perth, there are clearly people who think 'Why not give it a go'. We have some really good ones from Perth."

Speaking of Jade, Minogue said she was heartbroken to learn of the passing of her beloved mum Jacquie Gibbs last month. And she considers Jade "the third Minogue" sister, especially after her performance playing Kylie in the hit INXS mini-series.

"Everyone knew how much she had to go through with trying to keep working and look after and be with her mum, and they are a very close family," Minogue said.

"I cannot even imagine what that has been like for her. She is a beautiful girl and the people who meet her know that, so she has a lot of support around her.

"When I first met her, I just clicked with her and we just stayed in contact.

"I literally look at her and I am like 'You are the third Minogue sister'. Surely you have to be related."
