Man dies after collision with cyclist

A 95-year-old man has died after a collision with a cyclist in Bassendean.

Between 2pm and 2.30pm yesterday, the elderly man was walking his dog on a shared cycle path next to Guildford Road.

At the same time a 53-year-old man was riding a bicycle east on the same path.

The two men collided, causing them both to fall to the ground.

The pedestrian received a serious head injury and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he later died.

The cyclist received minor injuries.

Anyone with information regarding this crash, or who saw the pedestrian or cyclist before the crash, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
