Man dies after collision with cyclist

A 95-year-old man has died after a collision with a cyclist in Bassendean.

Between 2pm and 2.30pm yesterday, the elderly man was walking his dog on a shared cycle path next to Guildford Road.

At the same time a 53-year-old man was riding a bicycle east on the same path.

The two men collided, causing them both to fall to the ground.

The pedestrian received a serious head injury and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where he later died.

The cyclist received minor injuries.
