Star WA pacer Im Themightyquinn broke a track record when winning brlliantly in his Brisbane debut at Albion Park tonight.

He started $2.20 favourite in the $60,000 Sunshine Sprint (1660m) and rated 1:50.4 to score by 1.8m.

He eclipsed Albion Park's 1660m record, set when Suave Stewy Lombo rated 1:51.8 last year.


Reinsman Gary Hall Jr settled Im Themightyquinn in fourth position, until taking him three-wide near the home turn.

He accelerated powerfully to run down pacemaker Mach Beauty ($2.90).

Avonnova ($4.20) finished 6.6m away in third place.

ImThemightyquinn is scheduled to have a three-start Brisbane campaign before returning to Perth.

Meantime, Racing And Wagering WA trotting stewards have hit reinsman Terry Wegner with a six-week suspension for unacceptable driving at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

"Terry Wegner drove Earl Of Charity aggressively in the first 600 metres of the eighth race," chief trotting steward Carl Coady said. "The horse finished ninth, more than 50 metres behind the winner."
