Portia de Rossi reportedly spent 30 days in a Malibu rehab clinic earlier this year.

In Touch magazine is claiming the Australian actress entered the Passages rehab facility in May after a huge row with her wife Ellen DeGeneres, who then visited her every weekend.

"They got into an ugly fight. Portia hadn't been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating (herself), and Ellen confronted her," a source told the magazine.

"Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn't in love with her any more. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out."

Last December on her talk show, DeGeneres slammed rumours her marriage to de Rossi was in trouble.

"There's not one ounce of truth to any of it. I'm very happily married," DeGeneres said. "The only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more."

Born Amanda Lee Rogers in Geelong, de Rossi had her big break playing Nelle Porter in 90s show Ally McBeal and has publicly detailed battles with an eating disorder.

The actress and DeGeneres married at their LA home in August 2008. They tied the knot during the brief window when it was legal for same-sex couples to get married in California.

At the time of the wedding DeGeneres described herself as the luckiest girl in the world. "She's (de Rossi) officially off the market. No one else gets her," the talk-show host told People magazine.
