Pair charged over 'racist' attack

Police have charged two people over an allegedly motivated assault on two women in Bull Creek last night.

The women, aged 20 and 21, were allegedly subjected to racist insults before being attacked inside a fast food store on Benningfield Road at 6.30pm.

Both women suffered cuts and bruises and were taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment.

The younger woman would require extensive dental work, a police spokeswoman said.

A 32-year-old Leeming man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 26-year-old Willetton woman has been charged is due to face the same charge when she appears in Fremantle Magistrates Court on July 11.
