Madonna's daughter Lourdes is following in her mother's footsteps, enrolling at her alma mater the University of Michigan.

The 17-year-old is registered as a student in the undergraduate music, dance, and theatre program and will eventually receive a bachelor's degree in fine arts in musical theatre.

She is set to being her course later this year after being spotted in New York this week heading to her high school graduation in a pretty yellow sundress and clutching her cap and gown in hand

Madonna attended the university on a dance scholarship in the 1970s.

But she never completed her degree because she left to pursue her performing dreams in New York.

Madonna said in 2012 that she hoped her teen daughter would follow her path and attend University of Michigan.

"I keep telling her Ann Arbor is an awesome place," Madonna told the NFL Network before her Super Bowl XLVI halftime show.
