Police investigate second suspected homicide in two days

Police are investigating a second suspected homicide in Geraldton in two days.

Police were called to an address in 7th Street, Wonthella, at 6.50am today where they say the body of a man in his mid 40s was found.

Major Crime Squad is on the scene.

Police closed two streets in Wonthella and part of the car park at Geraldton Regional Hospital as part of the investigation.

Police have declared protected forensic areas between Seventh Street and Central Aveneue, Seventh Street and Howard Street, Eighth Street and Central Avenue, Eighth Street and Howard Street, as well as the hospital car park area.

The areas will remain closed until further notice.

Two men are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are also investigating the suspected homicide of a 34-year-old man, whose body was found in a unit at the Geraldton Bowling Green Villas on Tuesday morning.

The man's wife is assisting police with inquiries in relation to the latter incident.

Police have stressed the two incidents are in no way related.
