Machete attack in Cannington

A man has been charged after allegedly injuring his step-brother with a machete after a night drinking last night.

The pair had been drinking at a home in Hamilton Street in Cannington when they allegedly became involved in an altercation at about 10.30pm.

A 36-year-old man was injured by a machete and was rushed by St John Ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains seriously injured.

His 46-year-old step-brother has been charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court today.
