They have skirted around the topic of their relationship for weeks but House Rules couple Candy Stuart and Ryan Pusic have now confirmed they have split.

Rumours have been swirling for several weeks that the NSW team parted ways after the Seven show finished filming, with their constant bickering reportedly being the cause of the rift.

But just last week Pusic insisted to Access All Areas that being on the reality renovation series had actually brought out the best in him and Stuart, despite their frequent clashes.

Now the Sydneysiders have both come out to confirm the demise of their two-year relationship, with Stuart telling New Idea things just were not the same between the pair after the show wrapped.

"Ryan pretty much confirmed that there was no love there and he wanted to move on," the 26-year-old said.

Pusic said he knew things were over during the second week of renovations when they were working on WA duo Carole and Russell Bramston's house.

"We bandaged up the relationship and tried to make it work as best we could, but as soon as the show was finished, that was it," he said.

Both agreed it was existing tensions, such as Stuart's desire to get married and have children, rather than the stress of being on House Rules, that lead to their break-up.

Now questions have arisen as to what will happen to their newly revamped home, with Stuart reportedly keen to sell up now but Pusic preferring to do it without her in a few months time.

"It's in our solicitors' hands now," Stuart said. "I don't want to fight about the house and go to court."

Other House Rules contestants have now weighed in on the news, with Queenslander Maddi Carter saying going on the show was a risk for couples and it can make or break relationships.

Perth grandmother Bramston simply said she was shocked to hear about the split but saw the signs in Stuart. "I did notice a difference in Candy while filming," she said.

The final three teams will be revealed today at 7.30pm on Seven/GWN7 when another duo are eliminated from the running to have their mortgage paid off.
