A man armed with a gun robbed a pharmacy in Ashfield last night.

Just after 6pm last night, a man armed with a gun entered a chemist located on Colstoun Road, a police spokeswoman said.

The man demanded cash from the staff member and walked from the store after being given a sum of cash.

The man is described as being in his 30s, dark skinned and wearing dark clothing.
